Messaging Consent

This page documents how customers consent to receive text messages through Visit.Works. It exists so that anyone, including a mobile carrier reviewing our messaging program, can see exactly how consent is obtained and recorded.

How consent is collected

Consent is collected by the service business, not by Visit.Works. The flow is:

The business asks its own customer for permission to text them about their visits, using the consent language below.
The business records that consent in Visit.Works against that customer’s record.
Only then does Visit.Works send visit reminders, on-my-way notifications, and schedule change notices to that customer, on the business’s behalf.

Consent is never collected through a public web form on this site. There is deliberately no field anywhere on www.visit.works that asks a visitor for a phone number.

The consent language businesses use

Every business is required to obtain consent using language equivalent to this:

I agree to receive text messages from [business name], sent through Visit.Works, about my scheduled service visits: a reminder the day before, a note when the crew is on the way, and a notice if the visit is rescheduled or canceled. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. What we keep as evidence

For each consent, the following is recorded and retained:

Who consented, and the phone number consent applies to
The date and time consent was given
How consent was collected, and the language used
The messaging program the consent applies to

Consent is tied to a single business and is never pooled, shared, sold, or transferred. Opt out records are kept after you unsubscribe so that we do not message you again.
